Start-up Swobbee: The world's first modular battery charging and changing station

In neighbouring northern European countries, the All Electric Society is already more tangible. Above all Green Power Denmark with its members is an active driver. Christina Burgos Nittegaard, Head of the Intelligent Energy Department at the business organisation, gives an insight the goals and challenges.

The term ‘All Electric Society’ is already firmly established. However, its actual realisation is still a long way off. In this interview, Andreas Huhmann, Strategy Consultant, and Stephan Middelkamp, General Manager for Quality and Technologies at HARTING, explain what it will take.

Energy makes the world go round – with demands for power trending ever upwards. The ecological and economic framework conditions, however, call for decisive steps in the direction of renewable forms of energy. In order to optimise their use, individual sectors must be able to interact and the concept of the All Electric Society must be lived consistently.

This year, the world's leading trade fair for electronics is celebrating its 60th birthday and will also be the biggest electronica of all time. Under the trade fair motto ‘Leading the way to the All Electric Society’, the technology group will be showcasing connection technology for a digitalised, electrified and sustainable world from 12 to 15 November 2024.

Golden leaves rustle, the wind whistles around the corners - the perfect moment to capture the magic of autumn. With the arrival of cooler days and longer nights, the HARTING Technology Group organised a special craft afternoon for the children of its employees. Together they created colourful kites and atmospheric lanterns.

A new phase begins for the newly graduated ‘Young Professionals’ - the young talents of the HARTING Technology Group. In a festive ceremony, 39 young graduates who successfully completed their training or dual study programme in winter 2023/2024 and summer 2024 were bid farewell.

A festive evening full of memories and emotions: The HARTING Technology Group once again organised its traditional anniversary celebration this year. Every year, the family and management team honour the loyalty of their long-standing employees in this way.

Many people only know it from stories: the workplace of mum, dad, uncle, sister or grandparents. At HARTING, family members now had the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the work of their relatives. At three plants - two in Espelkamp and the plant in Rahden - the Technology Group invited employees and their families to an open day.

For many young people, starting their training is like jumping in at the deep end - everything changes, a new phase of life begins. This year, 26 career starters have decided to set sail at HARTING. In total, the Technology Group is currently supporting around 130 trainees and dual students starting their careers - in more than 25 professions. New this year: the practice-integrated ‘Software Engineering’ degree programme.

The HARTING Technology Group welcomes a new Managing Director and Corporate Regional Manager at its subsidiary HARTING Singapore Pte. Ltd.: Mabel Low is now responsible for the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), ANZ (Australia, New Zealand), China, India, Korea and Japan regions.

HARTING is once again sending out a strong signal in the fight against blood cancer.

Meanwhile, decarbonization is in full swing. More and more areas are being electrified in line with the All Electric Society (AES) and sectors are being meaningfully linked. The synergies of sector coupling and the associated efficiency gains, however, are only one of the keys to achieving climate neutrality. Manufacturing companies are called on to critically examine the components of their products.

The vision of a society that meets its entire energy requirements by sourcing green electricity and distributing it in line with demand also poses new challenges for the suppliers of the necessary "hardware".

The consistent implementation of the AES determines that the energy is optimally connected, regulated and controlled. Data centre operators are also faced with the challenges of optimising space utilisation, while boosting availability and enhancing energy efficiency. HARTING is offering a harmonised portfolio to meet these demands.
