The sustainable use of renewable energies can only be achieved through energy storage modules that enable time-delayed, demand-led utilisation. The use of connectors and pre-tested cable assemblies speeds up the installation of energy storage systems.
The sustainable use of renewable energies cannot be achieved without storage power facilities and/or storage media given the volatile electricity generation from the sun, wind and water. Large battery storage systems enable the decoupling of the generation and consumption of green electricity. The more electricity from renewable energies that can be fed into the grid at different times and in line with demand, the less gas will have to be converted into electricity.

Heavy-duty connectors can contribute to the efficient establishment of power plants as well as of energy storage or electric power transmission systems. Among the advantages of connectors are quick exchange options in service cases, e.g. for measuring equipment.
However, connectors are not always easy to use in the environment of energy systems, especially, where no direct view is possible or access is restricted. For such environments, HARTING has developed accessories that guide both sides of a connector into the right position for "blind" or "automatic" mating.
Modular connectors are also offering the possibility of combining different connectors into one interface. This enables the users to transmit power on the one hand side and collect data from the batteries on the other side. A high flexibility and future viability is given by nearly endless combination possibilities with more than 100 connector modules from Han-Modular® – The market standard for modular connectors.
Single pole battery connectors for front-mounting
Han® S is the first special high-current battery connector that meets the relevant UL and for stationary energy storage systems. Among others, it fulfils the requirements of UL 4128 for connectors in electrochemical battery system applications, UL 1973 for batteries in stationary applications, for emergency power supply for vehicles and in light rail applications, and UL 9540 for energy storage systems and accessories.
Contacts for currents up to 200 A and 1500 V can be accommodated in this compact and flexible housing. The bulkhead mounted housings in this series can be rotated flexibly by 360 degrees. The locking together of the male and female housings is intuitive.
Reducing operating costs with pre-assembled and tested battery cables
The advantage of pre-assembled cables is that they enable a quick and easy initial commissioning. Another customer benefit provided by this Plug & Play solution is that are no tooling, storage or labour costs occur – so the total cost of operating materials is reduced. The assemblies are 100% tested according to the HARTING's high quality standards.
The cables are resistant to high and low temperatures, UV radiation, ozone and acids.
