HARTING Systems GmbH under new ownership


The HARTING Technology Group, a global leader in industrial connectivity, has announced the sale of its subsidiary, HARTING Systems GmbH, a leading provider of automated and digitised checkout zones and merchandise dispensers, to TMP Beteiligungsgesellschaft. With the conclusion of the transaction, all shares of HARTING Systems GmbH will be transferred to the new owners.

Philip Harting, CEO of the HARTING Technology Group is delighted to report the news: "We have now found a good home for the employees and customers of HARTING Systems. After numerous discussions, together with the management of HARTING Systems GmbH and the buyer, we are convinced of TMP to take ownership of the company as a competent partner for sustainable entrepreneurial development. Together with the new Managing Director, Dr Christoph Barth, who has many years of experience in the management of manufacturing companies, we are confident that HARTING Systems GmbH will continue to develop and grow successfully."

The designated Managing Director of the new HARTING Systems GmbH, Dr Christoph Barth, is enthusiastic about his new role: "I am very pleased to be contributing my management experience towards sustainable business development. Together with all our employees at the Espelkamp location, we are striving for a successful growth story and will be leading the business with checkout zones and merchandise dispensers into a successful and also digital future."

The HARTING Technology Group will be placing greater emphasis on its "Industrial Connectivity" core business and concentrating on its international growth strategy. For a transition period, the Technology Group will be available to HARTING Systems GmbH as a service partner. The long-standing Managing Director of HARTING Systems GmbH, Peter Weichert, will also continue to be available to the company. As Weichert commented: "Together with the new owner, we will continue to expand our leading position as market and technology leader and we see promising growth potential in the areas of automated and digitalised checkout zones, as well as in secure merchandise dispensers."

In the course of the acquisition, the foundations for further profitable growth will be put down over the coming months. This includes creating an independent new corporate structure, a distinct corporate identity, and a product and corporate brand.

The two parties have agreed to not disclose the purchase price.
