At HARTING, we have recognized the solution: the digital twin. This technology, which has already revolutionized industries such as aerospace, automotive, and healthcare, is now being driven forward by us for our products.

What is a digital twin?

A digital twin is a virtual representation of a physical system, such as a machine or an entire production facility. We see the digital twin as a holistic concept that enables the complete mapping and transparency of a real asset throughout its entire lifecycle - from inception through renewable value creation to final energy recovery.

Our goal

Sustainability through digitalization In the evolving All Electric Society (AES), more and more areas of life are being electrified and sectors are being intelligently interconnected. However, to achieve true climate neutrality, companies must also critically examine the components of their products. This is where HARTING comes in: The digital twin serves as the key to determining the sustainability information of an asset in the context of digitalization.

Asset Administration Shell (AAS)

The AAS, defined by the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA), is the heart of our approach. It offers a standardized digital representation of our products and enables seamless communication with other digital systems. For our customers, this means:

  • Comprehensive AAS data for download

  • Smart 3D models and ECLASS classification data

  • Easy integration into your systems

Digital Product Passport (DPP)

The DPP is the next logical step. It enriches the digital twin with complete data on each product component and makes it traceable. With HARTING, you can:

  • Access the DPP via a QR code on the product

  • Retrieve all relevant manufacturer information

  • View the AAS and PCF

Carbon Footprint Image

Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)

The PCF measures the total greenhouse gas emissions over a product's life cycle. This is how we help you optimize your supply chain:

  • Focus on Cradle to Gate PCF for B2B products

  • Automated PCF calculation

  • PCF data in the digital twin and product passport

The digital twin revolutionizes industry efficiency and sustainability

The digital twin will fundamentally change the way companies work. At HARTING, we are ready for this future. With our innovative solutions - from the AAS to the digital product passport to the PCF - we offer you not just data, but real insights into your products. This enables you to work not only more efficiently and reliably, but also to actively contribute to a more sustainable industry.
