Our Corporate Culture

We're a family-run company

Our Corporate Culture
»

Essentially, it is the connections with people that give life its value.*

Family business

In our family business, every employee counts. Only together can we achieve success. Boldly breaking new ground, we develop the technologies for the future. We try things out, make mistakes, learn from them, and continue to innovate. Our values give us the support we need and shape our common culture.

To try and fail is at least to learn; to fail to try is to suffer the inestimable loss of what might have been.

American business executive and the author of pioneering work in management theory

We need the freedom to be bold. HARTING creates this freedom, while taking the most diverse lifestyles into account. Our values connect part-time heroes, power women and globetrotters. Because as an international company, we have a cosmopolitan outlook. It depends on each individual. This attitude enables us to go to work with a smile, shape the future with joy in our work, and go home with a good feeling.

HARTING Activities
  1. Marathon fever for a good cause (Romania)
Our employees in Romania put their legs to use for a good cause. The traditional charity run raised over 10,000 euros for a children's skate park. That's a sporting achievement!

  2. Creative together - digital Advent calendar (Germany)
Our colleagues from HARTING Customised Solutions have jointly designed a digital Advent calendar. In addition to a lot of fun and creative effort, donations were called for behind the tenth door. The proceeds went to the "hexenHAUS" – an organization supporting women from the Minden-Lübbecke district seeking protection and help.

  3. HARTING connects for a lifetime (Germany)
In Espelkamp, we regularly organise excursions for our alumni. For our former employees, this is always a welcome opportunity to catch up on news and reminisce about the old days.

  4. Winter wellness walking (UK)
We are also united by common goals outside of work. For example, HARTING employees in England took part in a "Winter Wellness Walking Challenge" for "Mind", a mental health charity. Their goal was to accumulate 15,750,000 steps over three months.

  5. We provide support during difficult situations (Germany)
There are often social and personal situations that challenge us both physically and mentally. Especially when there are additional burdens in everyday life: such as childcare, caring for relatives, stress or financial worries. In difficult times and emergency situations, HARTING employees can seek help anonymously and free of charge at the counselling centre "PME Familienservice".

  6. Celebrating together (China)
At our subsidiary in Zhuhai in China, our employees get together on site every three months to celebrate all their birthday childs. The delicacies and festivities are enjoyed by all. "We like to use this time to swap ideas and strengthen the bonds within our team." explains Amy Chen, HR & Admin Supervisor.

  7. Fun with crafting (Germany)
Once a year we invite our staff and their kids to a traditional family craft activity. People are busy with cutting, drawing and gluing, while also enjoying drinks and snacks. Every time, participants come away with beautiful memories of a successful day of handicrafts and new, personal decorations for their homes.

  8. Special days (Switzerland)
Whether it's king cake for King's Day, apples from the regional farmer, or "keep healthy" bundles for our alumni: At HARTING in Biel, there are cool promotions all year round, as well as gifts at Christmas and Easter. Everyone comes together again during the summer and Christmas festivals. "We want our employees to feel comfortable here with us. That is why gestures of appreciation and personal contact with employees are so important for us," says Susanne Giehl, Managing Director.

  9. Roll up your sleeves for a good cause (Germany)
Vital blood transfusions are urgently needed. And blood supplies are always in short supply. That is why we regularly organise blood donation events where our employees can roll up their sleeves for a good cause. Each time, we are overwhelmed by their enthusiastic participation. Thank you for your help!

Carrier paths

Intelligent connections for a successful future

Organisational talent, number cruncher or inventor? We promote the varied goals and talents of our employees with internal and external training. We also successfully and emphatically support unusual career paths. Every career path is different – we find the best one together.
The choice is wide: including entry-level programmes, training and further education projects, and study programmes. Because nothing motivates people more than the opportunity to better themselves.  Whether apprenticeship or degree-based study, whether craftsman or merchant – we welcome all professions and value the strengths and experiences that they bring us.

HARTING Americas, USA

Pioneers

We shape the future.

We offer students in the USA a toolbox and a handbook suitable for their profession with our "Internal Development Programme". In practical projects alongside professional mentors, our interns are able to develop skills that are important during the start of their careers. This helps to answer very basic questions such as "Is this profession the right one for me?" "We are repeatedly thrilled by the passion with which these students dedicate themselves to their projects. That's why we then offer many of them the opportunity to take advantage of further career opportunities at HARTING" states Nancy Lesnicki, talent acquisition specialist.

Opportunity provider

Welcome to HARTING HARTING Biel, Switzerland

Approximately 100 employees work at our factory in Switzerland. Since 2018, we have been providing people from difficult life situations the opportunity to integrate into the primary labour market. These include refugees, people who have long-term unemployment or sicknesses, and people with disabilities. An internship provides the way in; this is often followed by a temporary or permanent position.

Many different paths lead to HARTING

Many different paths lead to HARTING. We not only support special work and training programmes, we also promote individual career paths: with positions for working students, the opportunity to complete a Master's degree while working, and projects that are just waiting to be implemented. Of course, you can also do everything at once! Rebekka Heitmann thought so too. But more about that in the video.

Work / health management

Safe connections for a secure future

Nothing is more important than health. Safe workplaces that comply with current standards, a healthy working environment and the necessary safety equipment are all "must haves" for us. Our manufacturing workplaces and our office spaces are all equipped according to the most modern and ergonomic standards.
