Family day for young and old at the HARTING plants
During the family day, visitors were given exclusive insights into the plants and departments and learnt about the process of creating HARTING products - from planning to delivery. The employees themselves also discovered something new: they had the opportunity to travel back and forth between the plants on the little train and thus explore other departments beyond their own area. Many of those interested were able to get involved themselves, for example by assembling a connector. Those who preferred to just watch were able to observe some systems, such as the injection moulding machine or the punching press, in live operation alongside facts and figures on machines and departments.
On the ‘connector discovery trail’, young adventurers learnt more about HARTING products. In keeping with the motto ‘Don't just look, touch’, they were able to get in touch with technology in a playful way. The possibilities were many and varied: bending a cube out of a sheet of metal, playing Flying Bear (based on the children's game ‘Looping Louie’) or individually labelling their own money box in the form of a Han® plug using a laser - all the children were eager to try it out. The highlight for the kids: the raffle for a pedal stacker. Even though there could only be one winner, everyone had fun trying it out at the HARTING plant.
For those about to start their careers, trainees from the HARTING New Training Centre (NAZHA) were on hand to provide information about training opportunities at the technology group.
Dr Andreas Imhoff, Managing Director Operations at HARTING, gave a positive summary: ‘I saw lots of smiling faces and enthusiastic visitors. I was particularly pleased to have the opportunity to meet up with colleagues away from the daily work routine. THANK YOU to all the guests and helpers - and THANK YOU to all the employees - for organising great things every day, for your commitment, your loyalty and your trust.’
