B23 Hybrid through-wall Connector
For the successful implementation of the One Cable Initiative
One Cable Automation (OCA) pursues the aim of achieving particularly advantageous, optimal cabling for equipment, machines and systems as well as associated peripherals. The basic principle is to combine power, signals and data communication in a single connector. This saves space, time and expense as cable routing and with it the complexity of the entire cabling process are significantly reduced.
OCA should be seen as an overarching cabling philosophy subdivided into specific technologies for single-cable solutions.
With its B23 panel feed-through connector, HARTING is presenting the first solution here for use in OCA systems. Further versions and designs, e.g. the B17, are already in the pipeline.
The hybrid panel feed-through connector in B23 design boasts a data interface with four contacts for Ethernet transmission, as well as power supply contacts with 3 x 4 mm2 + PE 4 mm2 + 2 x 2.5 mm2. This gives it a current capacity of 22 A + 25 A at 40 °C for voltages from 630 V AC / 850 V DC, 600 V. An operating temperature range of -30 to + 80 °C and an IP protection rating of 65/67 for the threaded version position the B23 as a sturdy and significantly simplified interface for One Cable Automation devices.
