Web-seminar selected FAQ

Can we directly replace RJ45 or M12 connector with SPE in existing design?

SPE is not intended to replace the solutions currently available on the market such as RJ45 or M12 (D & X-Coded), but to extend them. The approach of SPE is to bring Ethernet to places where Ethernet is not used today.

Since a completely new infrastructure is required for SPE, HARTING has developed the ECO system shown below. This shows which components are necessary for the new technology in order to make it usable and also shows what possible application fields can look like.

Could we use iX industrial connector for high shock and vibration environment?

Yes, we can use iX Industrial connector for high shock and vibration environments. Resistant to shock and vibration, it is designed for 5000 mating cycles & two snap-in metal hooks ensure a safe connection of receptacle and plug.

Furthermore, HARTING Mini PushPull iX Industrial connector range offers IP65 & IP67 ingress protection and higher shock and vibration for harsh Industrial environment for indoor and outdoor applications.

Can we download multiple datasheets for connector parts in BOM?

Yes, HARTING has provided enhanced Digital service through which customer can download more than 10 useful engineering data like Datasheet, CAD files, Images, Product declaration, Type sheet etc. for product list of up to 50 parts nos.

This service is available upon signing in on HARTING website: https://b2b.harting.com à Service à Product Data Manager.

Do we have M12 D Coded in push-in technology / IDC?

HARTING M12 D-Coded connectors are available in Screw, pre-Link IDC, IDC (HARAX®) and Crimp Termination technologies.

Can we use RJ45 for robotic application?

Industrial RJ45 connectors can be used for Robotic applications based on the location and type of application. Industrial RJ45 connectors (example: RJ Multifeature) can be used in Robotic control cabinet for indoor application where there is no shock and vibration.

HARTING PushPull Range of RJ45 connectors and HARTING Han 3A RJ45 connectors can be used in harsh environment of IP65 & IP67 like in dress-pack, robot foot/ground cabling and servo drive applications where there is continuous movement and vibration.
